The newest episode of The Future Human Podcast has dropped, and it’s a must for fashionistas everywhere. We’re exploring the ‘microchic’ movement: thanks to the Internet’s epic scope, we can cherrypick our looks from across history and the globe, leading to the breakdown of the trend cycle and a major challenge for big fashion companies in both the luxury sector and the high street. But we’re seeing an exciting wave of fashion startup companies that are catering to our ultra-specific tastes and carefully honed personal style, from Polyvore to Editd to Catwalk Genius and beyond.

The founders of two of those startups join the regular Future Human podcast team in the studio: Ari Helgason, the founder of revolutionary online boutique Fabricly as well as the ‘World on a Hanger’ software platform that greatly simplifies the process of running a fashion business, and also Chris Morton, the founder of a social news feed called Lyst that helps consumers follow designers and discover new products. With host Oliver Beatty and Future Human organiser Ben Beaumont-Thomas, they discuss everything from the nurturing of new talent to the future of online shopping. Listen below via Soundcloud, or subscribe to the series in iTunes – we’ll be publishing another episode every fortnight for the rest of the year.
